  1. to make sure i have this right, you want to deposit a check into an account that is not in your name? like a child's account or husband's bank account?  As long as you have the account number that you wish to deposit it into then it is fine to do at any bank. as long as the bank of the check is signed then it would be no problem. it would not matter who the check is written to. when i was a kid prior to having a bank account, my parents would give me he cash for the checks i got then deposit the checks in to thier bank account.

  2. You cannot deposit a check that is not written out to you, that is a felony.

  3. I would not want to bank at any bank that allowed that.  This is a violation of the law. I would hope my money would be better safeguarded.  A check that is made out to someone is a contract guaranteeing them the receipt of the money. If this check were to go into your account the person could come back and say you never gave them the money and most likely you could be compelled to give them the money again. Refer the person with the check to their own bank, or check cashing. Good luck
