Has anyone out there every heard of a cake called "Dump Cake"? If so how to you make it? I would love to make this for my family.

  3. DUMP CAKE

    20 ounces crushed pineapple

    16 ounces cherry pie filling

    1 package yellow cake mix, dry

    1 1/2 sticks butter, sliced

    Dump all ingredients into baking pan and bake at 350 F until brown, approximately 1 hour.

    Serving Size: 12.

    This cake has many variations, this is just one of many. Don't be afraid to experiment with different pie fillings and cake flavors.

    Ingredients

    1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple in own juice, undrained

    1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

    1 package Yellow cake mix

    1 cup Chopped pecans or walnuts

    1/2 cup (1 stick, 4 ounces) butter or margarine, cut into thin slices

    Directions:

    Preheat oven to 350*F. Grease 13x9-inch pan. Dump pineapple with juice into

    Pan. Spread evenly. Dump in pie filling. Spread evenly. Sprinkle pecans over cake mix. Dot with butter. Bake 50 minutes, or until top is lightly browned. Serve warm or at room temperature. Yield: 12-16 servings.

    Black Forest Dump Cake

    use 3 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling

    use chocolate cake mix.

    Dump in 1-1/2 cans pie filling on bottom. Top with dry chocolate cake mix. Top cake mix with rest of pie filling. Top with butter (and nuts, if desired).

    Tropical Dump Cake

    Substitute lemon or pineapple pie filling for cherry. Substitute white cake mix for yellow. Use 1/2 to 1 cup shredded coconut. Use almonds instead of walnuts.

    Chocolate Chocolate Dump Cake

    Substitute chocolate cake mix for yellow. Substitute chocolate pie filling (make your own by following directions on back of pudding and pie filling mix)for cherry pie filling. Use cherry pie filling instead of pineapple. Use chocolate chips instead of nuts.

    Substitute blueberry pie filling for cherry pie filling. It is a very nice alternative and blends well with the crushed pineapples

    Strawberry Dump Cake

    Ingredients

    1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice

    1 (15 ounce) can strawberry pie filling

    1 box yellow cake mix

    1 cup margarine

    1 cup nuts, chopped

    Directions

    1.Pour pineapple into well greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch dish or pan.

    2.Pour pie filling over pineapple and spread well.

    3.Dump cake mix over pie filling.

    4.Slice butter thin and lay over top of cake mix.

    5.Bake in preheated 325 degrees oven for 45 minutes or until brown.

    6.Cool in pan and serve in pan

  6. yep...basically pie filling dumped into a cake mix.  

    1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix

    1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple

    1 (16.5 ounce) can pitted dark sweet cherries

    1/2 cup butter



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

    Dump pineapple and cherries into one 9x13 inch pan and mix together. Top with cake mix and slice butter or margarine over mix.

    Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes or until brown and bubbling. Remove and serve warm or cold.
