Need a compact machine that can dig. any ideas?

Alright well we are building bike jumps on some city property that they dont know were on so we need it to be quiet. originally i was thinking a bobcat but im not sure if it can dig which is the main goal for it, so anyone have any experience with bobcats that knows there ability's?
