Need a diagram how to connect a solenoid to a 92 ford f-350 4x4 7.5l motor?

disconnected solenoid and installed new but now the engine wont turn over battery is new as well as the starter any ideas ?

  1. Not really sure if that still uses a starter relay with a pole-shoe starter, or a starter with a solenoid mounted to it. If it's the first, those pole-shoe starters take a very solid battery voltage to get them to engage. So even with the new battery, you might want to try a jump if you have that setup.

    The wiring does vary between the two systems. The relay will have the large cables attached to the large terminals, and it doesn't really matter which to which. Any small wires with large terminals should be on the same side as the cable that goes to the Battery.

    The red with blue stripe wire will go to a small terminal, marked "S" if there is more than one. If there is a second one should be marked "I", although some don't use that.

    If you have the solenoid mounted starter, that just has one large cable connection, and the small wires are similar to the relay setup, except without the small wires with the large terminals.
