Need a first street bike for a small female rider with no experience..advice please?

I am 5'1" 105lb 17 year old girl and i love to ride!!!i have ALOT of friends who ride..every thing from 600 cbrs to 1000 gsxr's and i never miss an opportuny to jump in the back of one of their bikes..but i want my own soo bad i can taste it!! i want something fast enough to keep up but small enough for me to handle...bigger than a 250 but not as big as a 1000.. im thinkin maybe a honda cbr 600 but dont know if i will be able to find one low enough for me...also I would like any tips for beginning riders.

Try a Honda Rebel- very short seat height.  Easy to handle & fairly quick especially for someone your size.  I had a 250 traded up to a 450. Used as a commuter.  Good dependable bike.
