  1. Go to the makers sites and see if they have a good long life battary for the camera you can afford.  But face up to the fact more battery power means more money.  I pay 80.00 for a 2hour battery life.

  2. I don't know about the camera, but if you want long battery life I think you should go with rechargeable batteries. I use my camera a lot and my batteries last a good while.

  3. I agree with the last answer that said no P&S had a good battery life. At most, you'll be able to snap a couple hundred pics - depending on the brand & model of camera, of course.

I have a Canon EOS 40D and with no flash, I will get 1,100 shots. With 50% flash use, I will get 800 shots off before a recharge is needed.

Just an example of how DSLR's have much longer battery life, that's all.

  4. I have an Olympus FE-280. It's 8.0 mp, great zoom ranges, and about a 3" LCD. And it's red =)

I love it. It has about a million settings  (that I never really use, but I'm sure are great) like fireworks, document, night, landscape, etc.

I think I paid about $175 for it around Christmas time.

Oh, and the battery is rechargeable. It comes with a wall plug-in, and stays charged for like ever.  I would never go back to a double AA battery camera.

  5. No p&s camera has good battery life.

Only Digital SLRs have good battery life because they can shut off after a picture is taken to conserve power and they display lcd as viewfinder by choice when the mirror is retracted in the options. Usually they only display the pictures on preview...
