  1. u have to know someone how works in nrl and u have to ask them can i have a try out with the coach

  2. No simple answer to this one. A good NRL player must have many qualities.

Skill above and beyond the normal

    Mental strength (mind over matter)

    Physical fitness

& the most important thing is GUTS & a never say die attitude

My son plays league & used to play against Jarrod Hayne

His mate from school is Tim Robbinson who is coming up through the grades at Parramatta & is a brother to Chad Robbison (current first grade team member of Parramatta)

If you've got the skill I'm sure you can do it.

Also politics comes into it. You will find playing for a team which is in first division gets you more exposure to talent scouts. They rearly look at players in lower divisions

  3. seriously dude...

i live in a country town and unless your young, you really need to have played since junior leage.

unless your absolutely outstanding, your probably not going to make it as most of the boys get picked into squads when there about 15, then work their way up..

    good luck buddy!

  4. To get into the NRL you generally have to be playing for your district or zone side at under 14 or 16 level. Some guys do make it after this but the chances are greatly diminished after this level.

So yeah the route most travelled is to sign up at your local club or one that is around your area that's pretty succesful and then basically get noticed by whoever your local development sqaud is... these teams are picked from the local junior competitions and then work your way into the Toyota Cup (National Under 20's league).

The other route is to attend open try outs for a Jim Beam Cup or Queensland cup team (they tend to hold these between Nov - Jan) and then once you earn your spot be impressive enough to attract attenion. Its a lot harder to get noticed this way, but if you've got enough talent you'll make the NRL.

Some notables guys who got late starts include Matt King, Adam Mogg and David Seage - all of these guys made their way to the NRL through the Queensland Cup despite going relatively unnoticed early on in their careers.

  5. you could contact your local club and ask them some questions. if you then think it'd be to hard to play you should be able to play touch footy. Lots of people play touch and its realy fun and keeps you fit aswell.

    hope this helped :)
