Need a good place to eat in Montreal?

Can any one recommend a good authentic French or Canadian restaurant in Montreal?

gibby's is super expensive and people just go there to say they went there and you'll wait like 2 hours at the bar even though you have resevations, you can go to queu de cheval on rene levesque or cher la mere michel is superb i think it's on guy street, it's great

When we went to Montreal we took a horse drawn carriage to a lovely place called Gibby's.  They had excellent food and the atmosphere was amazing, very romantic.
