I am getting observed this week and I am looking for a great lesson to do with preschoolers. My principal is expecting to see a Rdg/LA lesson that lasts probably about a half hour. I'd like to start with a book or song. All suggestions welcome!

  1. u can make a family tree with them in the art area. They have so many ideas on "Family" for all centers & short explanations at these sites.

  2. Your best bet would be to do a circle time that contains a

book, song, finger play, poem, and movement. This can take up about 15min.

Then have a tie in activity

If you talk about the different kinds of families you can extend that into math and make a chart of who they have in their families.

Ask families in advance to send in pictures of their child and their families and play a guessing game of who's who.

Make a book ----- ask children to draw a picture and dictate to you a story or what the picture is.
