ATI Radeon X300 (looking to upgrade in few months)

Okey dokey. First off, I'm a hardcore gamer with 2 reluctant parents and a tight budget. I know a LOT about computers and such too. With my current setup, I can play Halo at 1024x768 pretty well and NR2003 (Nascar Racing 2003) at about 30fps in a 43 car pack at med settings. I'm thinking about buying Counter Strike Source. But with that setup, can I REALLY run that at a playable rate with my current setup? Also, I was thinking of adding 1gb of RAM. Will that help until I can get a new ATI card?

  1. You'll defiantly be able to play counter-strike source, i was able to get 20 fps on elementry school computers that were running half of what your running now, and it was intel video card; Those things suck too. I would suggest upgrading your ram, to reducload timeses, and stuttering in your game. Upgrading your video card will help aloas wellll even a cheap ATI x1300 would majorly increase your fps

  2. You will be able to run CS: S just fine. Trust me on this.
