I have a paid account with 1 and 1 (home package) for a website. I would like to put video on the website (of my son)... 1 and 1 tells me that I can not have video streaming from the site b/c I am sharing space with other people (wierd..) But anyway, someone told me to go to tinypic.com and download video and then put link on site. Problem is, I dont want videos of my son seen by the whole world. If you know of any sites I can use with maybe a password to get the video it would be greatly appreciated...

  1. Your on a shared server.. It's cheaper that way but ya run into this issue. Photobucket is only going to work with pics. Here are a few ways. Setup a myspace account. Set your profile to private. Upload your video of your son. After it's done uploading the video that is it will show you an embed code. Copy this code and paste it into your site. Now when somebody clicks the link they will have to log into myspace and be on your friends list. That's the free way to do what your asking. Otherwise you'd have to setup accounts on your website that require username and passwords and then you could provide a relative link to do a straight download of the movie which would not be streaming but would be played locally form the user system. Kinda defeats the purpose of having your own website but it would provide streaming which is what you asked for. If you don't care about whether or not it streams you could upload the video to rapidshare.com and password protect it that way. It'd be a straight download though.

  2. photobucket.com is one i know, but go to settings when you make your account and put it on private.
