Need a name that is a form of Nellie or Edna?

I would like to name my baby after one of the grandmothers - Edna Irene or Nellie. The names as they are don't work. I'm not really fond of the names Edna or Irene, and Nellie is too nick-namish to work. I am looking for a middle name, and the baby's first name will end with an "a", so I'd like the middle name to start and end with a hard sound, rather than a vowel. Do you have any suggestions of other forms of any of these names?

  6. It would be easier if you told the first name. It's too hard to tell from your description.

Eden is close to Edna, Eileen similar to Irene, but you don't want anything that starts or ends with a vowel.  That doesn't leave much, if anything that is similar. I don't know... Nellie Rose,  Melanie, Helen, Kelly? I say forget the grannies and just go with another name.

  7. Neled.

    Ednell.
