Need a new vacuum! What do you recommend?

Question

Long at last, my vacuum which was given to me a (which I hate!) has FINALLY kicked the bucket! :) I need to run out and buy a new vacuum and need to know what ones to avoid. I dont' want to spend an arm and a leg (let's face it, a vacuum is not a fun purchase!) Do you have any suggestions on a good vacumm at a reasonable price? Thank you!

Definitly stay away from Dysons, their garbage. I will post a couple links to good quality vacuums, different price ranges.

Have you heard of a Roomba? It's a vacuum "robot" that does all the work for you!

I know it's expensive, but these things last and it's a lot easier than hauling a vacuum around!
