We're staying in a hotel on N. Wabash overnight and going to see Wicked on Sunday afternoon. Someplace not crazy expensive, but romantic and must have excellend food as my husband is a former chef. Would like somewhere within walking distance. Quiet and romantic, not too crazy or loud.

  1. i think it's tavern on the park located on Randolph across from Grant Park.

  2. The Gage is a straight shot down Michigan Avenue and is only a 5 minute walk from where Wicked is playing.

If you want it be quiet, ask to be seated away from the bar; they're two completely separate rooms, but the noise can sometimes leak in.  but it's an absolutely beautiful, and very upscale, environment.

i recommend any of the specials - they're usually a safe bet. the caesar salad is also one of the best in chicago, i think.

    happy anniversary!

  3. If you like asian/sushi/japanese food, you could try Shikago, it is on Adams and Wells.  It is VERY good.

  4. Gibsons.... SO WORTH IT!!!!

  5. The Gage

  6. I really like Eli's in Chicago.  They have great food, and it is so romantic (its right across the street from the contemporary art museum).

  7. Sepia is fabulous.  The owner/chef is always on site and your experience is a big deal to them.

    123 Jefferson St.

  8. Italian Village is only a couple blocks from the Oriental Theatre.  Even though it is busy, there are three restaurants to choose from at various prices.  The Village restaurant puts you into an Italian village itself.  It's almost like going to DisneyWorld!
