Need a persuasive speech topic?

Question

This will be my second year of high school speech. I will be competing on the varsity team. Last year I did my persuasive on global warming (that it exists). It's time to start writing my new speech, but I can't pick a topic. Some of my ideas have been: We should terraform Mars and/or the moon, Reforming US schools in order to compete in a global market, Reducing the intake of sugar of Americans to improve public health. These are just a few of my ideas. I need something original that people don't already know a lot about.

Something that we studied about is Called the Invisible Children. Definitely something worth fighting for. A war that's been going on over 2 decades and we fail to stop it. So many have died that the rebels have resorted to taking children as soldiers. The true horror is unbelievable. Something truly worth bringing to attention to others. People have been taken from homes, moved to camps and left to die and goes on as we speak. Check it out.

The best method for deaf education. There is plenty of info on it, and it's very unlikely any of your teammates or judges will have ever thought about it. In my opinion, Sweden has the best deaf education system. "Educating Deaf Children Bilingually" by Shawn Neal Mahshie, is a fantastic book if you want to argue that way. If you want to argue the other way, you'll have a lot of work trying to prove this wrong. You'd get a speechworth of info from the first 10 pages.
