Need a pitcher. Byrd, Looper, Zito, Bush, Perkins,Johnson, Sanchez, Arroyo?

I need to fill a pitcher spot.

Available on waivers:

Paul Byrd,

Bradon Looper,

Barry Zito,

Dave Bush,

Glen Perkins,

Bronson Arroyo,

Josh Johnson,

Anibal Sanchez

Here is my Top 5 and my reasons for the selection:

1. Perkins- he has been consistent  all year and is on a contender. He gives you a good outing every time as stated by his stats (11-3 60K 3.90 ERA 1.39 WHIP) He also is on a contender.

2. Johnson- it's great that he has pitched great in every outing since coming back. Unfortunately, Marlins are fading and may not be a great option down the stretch.

3. Sanchez- same reasons as Johnson.

4. Arroyo- pitching great on a bad team. Seems he has taken lightning from Volquez.

5. Bush- another 2nd half pitcher who can help you down the stretch. He is inconsistent at best.

Do not pick up Byrd, Looper, or Zito whatsoever.

i would go with josh johnson. ever since he came off the DL for the marlins, he's been dealing. he gives them a great chance to win every night. he's also more consistent than some of the other options.

I agree with the first answer that Josh Johnson has bene good, but Arroyo has been lights out over his last few games.  In fact, he's got 7 wins in his last 10 starts.  Not too shabby.
