Hi people

I will start from beginning. My last period was on 18th of July and my cycle are usually between 33-37days. So I'm ovulating later then 14 days after period. And now there is that thing.I should ovulate between 8th-10th of August which is now.I have started using a OPK since 1st of August and on 8th and 9th my test said positive, but today was negative already(??) since 4th of August I saw a stretchy and sticky mucus(sorry for the details) so I new I have started my fertile days and since the 7th it changed to egg white colour. This is my first time when I've used the OPK and I don't know what to think. when I actually ovulated???

O and for the first time i have a strange feeling in my lower parts of tommy(a kind of heavy feeling like something is pushing on my bladder like a small ball-I had to go to the toilet very often but now had stopped- and this discomfort there). Maybe was the sign of ovulating?

Please could someone got any idea? what happened?why only two days of positive test(there were twice a faint lines before I had a positive ones)

  1. The OPK tells you a few days before you ovulate because it detects your LH surge. If your + was yesterday you should be O'ing today or tomorrow so get busy! I would suggest using the OPK in conjunction with charting your basal Body temp (BBT) that way when your temp jumps after the + OPK you can confirm you have ovulated.

  2. I honestly don't know a ton about OPK's, but I do know that they show you the two MOST fertile days.  The egg white mucus could be signaling ovulation, but the OPK only picked up on the two most fertile days.  I don't know if the heavy feeling was a coincidence or not as I have never experienced ovulation pain.

I have very long and irregular cycles as well, so I found that the only thing that worked for me was taking the basal body temp every morning.  3 months later we conceived.

  3. Only 2 days for a positive because you only ovulate once in a cycle, and since you tested positive for 2 days you probably ovulated somewhere in between these two days. Almost immediately after ovulation, if you don't conceive, the hormones change drastically to begin preparing your uterus to menstruate. Since you're tracking everything you're most likely going to realize every little thing that your body goes through, even though it's probably no different then it's been before. The heavier feeling could very well be your uterus beginning to weigh things down...it changes in size and weight depending on where you're at in your cycle. A non-menstruating uterus weighs only 4 oz, while a menstruating uterus is double in size at 8 oz. and a correctly positioned uterus sits just over the bladder.

  4. It's really not a cause for concern that you only got a positive OPK for 2 days. That is totally normal and to be expected as the LH surge only lasts for around 24 -48 hours. You most likely ovulated the day after the 2nd positive. It is also common to get faint lines on other days because there is always some LH present in the body.

It is common to get EWCM a few days before ovulation so it sounds like that's all normal and fine too.

Don't worry! Sounds like everything is going just fine and you pinpointed your fertile days.
