  1. Ignore Finatic.. native reptiles are the ONLY reptiles we are allowed to keep - provided you have the correct license. God knows where she came up with that information.

Most carpet pythons would happily live in that enclosure - being aboreal (tree climbing) many prefer a taller enclosure rather that most you see that are more lengthways. So add a few large branches to make use of the space available.

You might get away with housing a coastal carpet also, but bare in mind some commonly reach the 9 foot mark as adults and might be better off with a tad more room.

However if you are planning on getting a hatchling python, remember they should be housed in smaller enclosures or even plastic tubs with a tight fitting lid. They can often get too stressed out going straight into a huge enclosure and feel more comfortable and secure in a smaller one.

    Hope this helps. =)

  2. Why does it "have" to be Austrailan"?  If it's because you live in Austrailia, then forget about it..... it's illegal for you to keep native herps in captivity.  There aren't ANY Austrailian native herps that will do well in the enclosure you've described.  If you go with something 3 ft tall by 5 ft wide, then a frilled dragon is possible.  Bearded dragons are the most popular Australian herp, but you need an enclosure at least 6 ft long by 18 inches tall...... and if you live in Australia, they're illegal to keep.

  3. Finatic: "Bearded dragons are the most popular Australian herp, but you need an enclosure at least 6 ft long by 18 inches tall...... and if you live in Australia, they're illegal to keep."

Adurrrrrr, please learn your facts before you fork out useless information.

  4. a chameleon would be the best choice for you. They are strictly tree dwellers and are rarely seen on the bottom of their enclosure.

  5. Iguana, they like to climb
