Ok so here it is

I'm getting my permit soon and my mom saved up money for my car.

But my dad is making is so the price range is 7,000 to like 8,000 at the most. And it has to be a hatchback with fourwheel drive and good gas mileage. And all i keep getting for that are some ugly big s**t.

Know any good looking cars of the contraptions?

  1. chevy cobalt is a good car its good on gas.

  2. 1) you're not going to find anything in your requirements, with that price range

    2) you're looking at most, a 4-6 year old car; cars from 2002 do not have the kind of MPG they have today (the best would be a Honda Civic, but even a 4 year old Civic is more than $8000)

    3) hatchbacks? why? then you're looking at a range of cars that are much newer (and more than your price range) or much older, with worse MPG.

    4) Suzuki and Subaru are the only car manufacturers that make 4wd in sedans. And they are more expensive than 2wd cars.

    your "dads' requirements are unrealistic.

Use that $8000 as down payment toward a car that has been leased (usually about 3-4 years old) - and a 2wd (unless you plan on off roading your car, 4wd is unrealistic). At most you'd be paying of a balance of $5000 and that should bring your payments down quite a bit.

  3. I have a 1996 Geo Tracker that runs like a top..  Gets 30MPG and has 4 WD and a convertible to boot..   My little truck only has 96K original miles on an auto that is 12 years old.  Thats low mileage.   These motors run well over 200K miles..  Its mint and its a Florida car. I'm looking for $5000 now because it has gotten to be a very desireable truck due to high gas prices.

  4. Subaru Forester 00-02
