If a person does not admit in a visa application what country the person lived in in the past, will it ever be checked by anybody at a consulate?

  1. Most likely that will not be checked.

But EU countries will not bar you from entry based on countries you lived in previously. So there is no harm in stating the truth. Embassies are much more concerned about whether you are a potential illegal immigrant or a security risk.

  2. It truly depends on what country your applying in,Which EU country youre visting and what is your nationality..Its much easier to answer your question if you provide that information.Generally speaking if you come from a fairly peaceful country, with low incidents of overstaying visas in the EU...then the chances of them finding out where you lived before are very slim...but if you come from a problematic country...they will do more of a background check and if caught lying you might be banned from entering the EU for several years.

    Good luck!
