I caught some very nice salmon this weekend and smoked it, with a peppery recipe I found. Anyone with a good wine to pair with this lovely smoked salomon.

P.S. - I live in the Northwest

  1. Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon blanc goes well with smoked salmon.  Sparkling wine also goes well.  I generally stay away from red wine because it brings out the fishiness of the fish when one drinks red wine with salmon.  But again, there's no rule as to which wine you prefer.

  2. I think I answered this before, so I'll give the same.

I am a very avid red wine drinker, but I do make exceptions and one of them is with Salmon, no matter how it is made:

I always chose a dry white.

My favorite with salmon is dry Riesling or a nice French Chardonnay,

    especially Pouilly-Fuisse or Meaursault.

If white wine is not to your liking I suggest a good California Pinot Noir.

If you live in the NW I would try the Chateau St. Michelle Dry Riesling, an excellant wine from Washington State

  3. If you prefer red wine, I would recommend a Pinot Noir.  That is a classic food/wine pairing.

If you prefer white wine, I would recommend a crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

  4. A nice pinot noir or a hearty chardonnay. Concha Y Toro, which is a South American wine makes "Sunrise" chardonnay, for about $5.99 a bottle.
