I'm 15 and live in MD (Maryland) . I'm homeschooled, so how do I get my work permit? I don't want to wait until I'm older because I kinda need a job now.

  1. first find a place that hires people at 15 (this is a very small amount of places) then when you get the job go down to your local school department building with a photo ID (anything with your name and a picture of yourself will work, a season pass to an amusement park will work) and you can get a work permit there.

  2. homeschooling is like normal school but if u want to apply i think u can. it is not impossible. however u need to get interviewed

  3. go to the local school im sure they can give u a form or ask where u can get them :)

  4. there should be an agency that oversees homeschooling, they should be able to help you. or you could call the local high school and ask them if they are aware of how you would obtain one.

  5. I've been told that you can go to the guidance office of the school you would attend if you were enrolled in public school.  When we got my son's work permit, I took it to the government office with his birth certificate, etc and filled out the paperwork myself.  Good luck.

  6. There is an on-line application at the Maryland Division of Labor and Industry. The link is below. The work permit will be for a certain employer, so you have to be offered a job and have your employer fill out the form before you can get the permit and begin to work.

Best wishes on your job hunt.
