Question:

Need advice! GED prep-class in the summer?

I've gone to a ged prep-class for two quarters, winter and spring...each lasting about 10 weeks. My plan was to get my ged by June but the class is only to see how ready you are for the tests through work and reading, and not really to take the test in one quarter. I've worked pretty hard and my instructor said that I'm ready for the reading/writing test, but not the math. She thinks I should attend the summer quarter, since the class is continuous through the year. I really don't want to go during the hot summer, so I'm thinking of telling her I'm gonna study a ged book at home at my own pace then take the test when I'm ready. The students are supposed to reregister every quarter anyway, so it's up to me she said. She also said I can talk to my family about it. Since it's my choice, I can do this right?
