i have several bills on my credit report that have been sent to collection services and a couple that have been charged off. the highest one is $847.00. the lowest is $98.00. how should i go about paying these. and will it help my credit score? and how long would it take to for it to raise my score. should i work on paying off the highest or the lowest and get the smaller ones out of the way. also there are things that have been on there since 1995. how do i get those removed? i have never filed bankruptcy.

  1. pay your bills regularly that would keep your credit good!

  2. Your credit report should not have anything more recent then the year 2000.  It's only allowed to look back 7 years unless you've had a bankruptcy in the last 10.

Anything older then that, protest it with the credit bureau and the collection agency.

I'd get the most recent things taken care of first.  Older stuff tends to effect your credit score less and less with time.

Yes, paying will definitely help your score.  It normally takes about 2 months for it to show up and effect your score.
