  1. Keep the Sunfire, and learn how to drive a stick.  Cheapest overall answer to your dilemma.

  2. i have a cavalier and its good on gas but even better we have a toyota camry that is amazing on gas and is in amazing condition with 250,000 miles on it

    camry's are cheaper too-- they are EVERYWHERE

    and lots of room too

  3. Acura CL

    Honda Accord or Civic

    Toyota Corolla or Echo

  4. I would recomend a KIA or a Hyundia. They are basically the same. They are made by the same company.

  5. What's your price range? I'd recommend something like a used Mazda 3.

  6. get a hybrid... or something like a honda civic

  7. Honda Civic would be my recommendation. Extremely reliable, not horribly slow, and very good on gas mileage and great resale value. Just be careful and don't buy one some kid thought was a hot rod. As much as I have a natural aversion to them, the Hyundai's are a h**l of a car for the money.

  8. Used Civics are great cars to get.

    My 94 Civic has 187K miles and the engine + tranny + suspension runs like NEW.

    I even trust it for NYC to Chicago trip and back (1600 miles in 2 days).  I even have 2000 Audi A4 with just 60K miles, but I prefer the Civic.

    ===

    And the gas mileage is at 41 MPG on the hwy.

    Good Luck...
