Need advice on Indian Restaurants in NYC (Manhattan) where we could celebrate our daughters first birthday.?

We are planning on celebrating our daughter’s first birthday in NYC (Manhattan) area with about 30 guests. Separate banquet hall would be preferable for privacy. Need suggestions on Indian Restaurants with a good ambience, food and environment.

both Bombay Palace and Utsav are fantastic...I don't live in NY so I've never seen the banquet halls, but every time my family visits there, we make a trip to both places. Utsav has great food and a conventional environment, Bombay palace has equally good food with a maharajah palace feel to it, but can feel crowded at times. I know Indian food very well, and these are both authentic and delicious. Utsav has a dining room and/or an upstairs lounge that can be rented out. Not sure about Bombay palace though.
