Need advice on a camcorder?

Want to spend $500 or less, heard hard drive was better than DVD, 30GB good?

hard drive is better than mini-dvd for quality, mini-dv is better than hard drive for quality but harder to work with. You have to 'capture' mini-dv using a firewire card and capture software, but it's not that hard and the quality improvement makes it worth learning.

30 GB should be fine for non-HD

And MiniDV is better than hard drive AND DVD...can explain if requested.

But 30GB is good if you go for a hard-drive camcorder.  Should get a few hours on there.

Hi there, i actually own a business that can get you a good deal on a camcorder. I recommend the sony DVD handycam w/ LCD display for $449. I have one myself and it is great. The DVD is actually handy. We are partners with quixtar and circuit city. If you are interested let me know.
