Question:

Need advice on dying my bleached blonde hair back to my natural colour, light brown?

About 4 months ago, I decided to go bimbo, so I bleached my hair blonde. Since then, I've been re-dying my hair every 4 weeks, but the colour is staying at ginger. Going blonde (or trying to) is the worst thing I've ever done to my hair and before I go back to school (in 5 days time) I'd like to return to my natural colour of light brown.

I just need advice on whether I should do this in stages or in one. I'm not sure if dying the whole in one could ruin my hair? =\ x

I need some good brands; I've heard Loreal are good. Don't forget, I live in England, so if some brands are American or whatever, I probs won't be able to get hold of them :) x

Thanks ! :] x

(By the way, my hair is not blonde fully. I'm dark brown on top & I had it bleached underneath, just incase it went wrong. Thank god, I did that!! x)

  1. ok defo go back to your normal colour natual is good :) and i would say go and get it done at a hairdressers to save it going wrong but if you do want to do it at home i would use john freida or loreal your choice there both good :)

  2. your best bet is to have a stylist fix it. When you bleach your hair you completely destroy it and then it is unable to hold color, you would have to wait until it grows out. But a professional stylist may be able to save your hair....... or at least cut the underneath a little shorter than the rest to hide it.

    Good luck.

  3. I have done this so many times and I found Feria to be the best brand, and you want to go with a golden brown, not ash. not anything with a violet base in it cause then it will either turn grey or purple. The golden you cant go wrong with it. It will be fine. you might want to do two applications with it, but wait after the first one to see if you like the color.

  4. it would be best to go in two stages, which is do-able within the five days u have.  first, dye the blonde part (try loreal preference)  with a MEDIUM brown (light brown wont get it dark enough).  then, two days (and  deep conditioning) later, dye it with another brown that's the color u want.  if u dye it one stage, not only will it be hard on your hair, but it'll fade out back to a blonde in about 2 weeks, regardless of the brand u use.  and make sure it's loreal preference---not feria!!!  and keep up with the weekly conditioning treatments that they give u with the hair dye.  Good luck!!
