Hi,

Our Jack Russell somehow got hold of my plastic spiky alice band yesterday afternoon (its quite hard and spiky)

She chewed it all up into little bits but she must have eaten some as there was not enough left.

Well she has been her usual happy self, eating, drinking, chewing her toys etc. But early this morning she was sick 3 times. The last two were not really sick only a foamy white liquid but 2 of them had some plastic pieces in them.

Well she has just scoffed up her breakfast fine and I took her out to have her morning "poo". I looked at it and there was no plastic pieces in there whatsover and certainly no blood either.

I just need advice on what to do now? Is it good that she sicked up some of the plastic or should we rush her to the vets?

She hasnt passed any in her poo so is that a bad sign?

I don't want to rush her to the vets if there is no reason to, as she is running around as I type this barking and playing and seems fine apart from the sick at 8am (4 hours ago).

Any advice would be appreciated

  1. its good she got it out of her. My dog eats things all the time my dog ate a whole sock once - if your really concerned take the dog to the vet but it shouldn't be serious

  2. If she seems fine don't worry.  My German Shepherd ate the fat balls that you put out for the birds, They were fastened in plastic nets.  He was being sick and finding it hard to poo, but eventually the plastic netting came out of him.  He is fine now.  If you are a bit worried though it wouldn't hurt to have your dog checked over.

  3. As long as your are seeing pieces in the stool then she is passing it so that is good. Ge her hard chew toys like ropes or nylabones for her to chew on.
