Need advice on red wine please?

I occasionally drink white wine, and i like a rating of 7 in sweetness no lower than a 5, but i would like to try red wine, but i dont understand the letter system, i want the same sweetness as a white 7, if possible ,can anyone help me please.

Your best going for merlot that's red wine and it is a lovely red wine I just love the merlot wine it gives out a nice sweetness and crisp taste.

Try a very soft (not heavy in tannins) and fruity red.  You may even like one that you can serve slightly chilled.  Try a Beaujolais, a Nouveau Beaujolais, or even a Pinot Noir.

it's a completey different complex thing, red wine. Try some french Cotes de Rhone tomake a good start then move on to Spanish Rioja, the Chilean is always good and try the new world kind also.

Yes, Try the red wine "Red Truck". This is a great red table wine and has a great not too sweet flavor. "Perfect"! Or, Clous Du Bois, Sonoma County. Wines are judged by "Estates, County or Valley". Estate being the best and Valley the worst. Others are by Countries. So much more do home work for more.

I think, perhaps, your perspective of wine is a little simplistic.

Why censor your enjoyment based on a percentage score?  There is so much more to life than that.

If you're hung up on sweetness over everything else, start with a Merlot.  The French currently seem best at this grape variety.  New-world Shiraz wines are very agreeable too although possibly not quite as sweet.

After you've overcome your fear of red wine, please try something else, because as with a lot of life, enjoyment is more about the experience than sticking to what you know.

many women dislike red wine - because they find them too rough -

      Very usual - but not absolute -

      Some red wines meanwhile are lighter, more feminine, develop aromas of berries and candy - this is the case with the gamays grapes which are used in Beaujolais ( Chiroubles - Morgon - Moulin à vent ) wines, Anjou and Chinon wines - those wines are more on flavour and flower, low acidity and tannins, so that to chill them is not a problem, and will help you in your initiation -

You could try a Shiraz, Sirah or a White Merlot. White Merlot is lighter than a red but darker than a blush and it's fairly sweet.

sweet wine is not the way.you will never get the taste or flavor of the wine they are all different but sweet is not the answer
