I just had all my cavities taken care of, so i know i shouldnt have pain from them, but i have this TERRIBLE pain on the left side of my mouth on the bottom and top in the same place. Is this because of my wisdom teeth. They are still intact. Dentist says they are impacted. It almost feels like they are pushing my teeth forward! It hurts so bad. Any suggestions?

  3. Please go & ask your dentist lots of questions to get his recommendation. Your dentist may suggest surgery to remove them. My dentist didn't give me much advise, so I just left the impacted wisdom tooth (it wasn't bothering me) & it came back to haunt me 35 years later!! Here's the ugly-- Turns out the bone will decay around it & my gums receded & the tooth became partial exposed. My gums around it became very sore & I had no choice but remove it. Wish I had done it in my 20's.

  7. Actually, if you've recently had cavities filled, they may still cause pain, especially if you are eating and hot, cold, or sweet foods that typically irritate any cavity. I had problems with a recently filled cavity and my dentist said that they can be sensitive for up to six months. The first thing you should do, since you are in pain, is use a pain killer. Ibuprofen is always a good one because it also relieve any swelling you have that may be causing you further pain. You can also use a topical pain reliever such as Orajel. Then, in the morning, call your dentist. They will be able to determine the nature of the problem, whether it is your new fillings or a wisdom tooth problem and advise you on a course of action from there.
