Need advise on buying an SLR camera?

I am considering buying an SLR. The one I am considering is the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi With 18-55mm. What other lenses are necessary for this camera? Thanks for any advise.

Just start off with the kit lens (18-55mm)... get to know your camera first, figure out what you like to shoot, then start buying the necessary lenses needed to shoot what you like to shoot.
