  1. There  are  tons  of   clothes  sellers ,

    Both  trendy  and  discount .

You  best  have  a  solid  plan  and  a  location   near  a  college  campus  wouldn't  hurt

( if  you   are  targeting  the  trendy )

Or   near  a  Walmart  if  you  are  going  for  the  discount  shoppers .

  2. You can always do well, I mean people always need clothes. Lots of overhead but if you work hard you can do it!

  3. I would say no because i had my own store and have suppliers from overseas but you will need alot of money to keep the inventory and since there are so many other places selling cloths its not the best idea, In Michigan 80% of ppl that open a cloth store close within their 1st 2years

  4. a clothes business is a great idea. remember, first of all, to get organized, before you try to organize anything.

Take your time to find businesses, both mainstream and independent, that are willing to sell you their clothes to sell in your shop, and take the time to find the best business to produce clothes for you, if you have your own designs.

You will also (if need be) have to find a good financial backer, and a business agent who knows a thing or two about the birth and promotion of a small company.

Try and come up with the most efficient ways to advertise - sometimes it's a good idea to do this collectively with other people.

Remember too, that not everybody gets off the ground right away - it may take years for your venture to catch on, but if it's something you want to do, don't give up!! The harder you work, the more you'll be rewarded!

As for what you should provide in your store, don't be too general - example: AE only sells polos for collar-poppin' people. Hot Topic only sells clothes for people who wear lots of eyeliner (be it male or female). A&F only sell clothes for people with bulging wallets. At least, that's how many people see these stores... so, instead of cutting back on a possibly grand number of buyer's, expand on the type of clothes you were planning to offer - target everybody, instead of just a certain clique.

I wish you the absolute best of luck, and keep us updated!
