  1. for the really fast balls that you tend to hit with your hands you need to use the left-right approach on the ball. It helps you get an accurate position. You just need to step with your left foot then step with your right foot and you should be under the ball if you are that close to it. And for the serving I find it easier to get more power if i take a few steps to get more momentum going towards the ball. It is a lot easier this way for me. Also if you lift weights it gets your muscles built up and helps get more power.

    Hope I helped!

  2. When the ball is moving fast, you have to adjust faster.  You are about 4 inches short of ideal passing position.  It is hitting you on the hands instead of on the forearms.  Work with a partner and practice.  Have the hit at you slowly and then build up the speed until they are hitting the ball hard at you.

For serving, I recommend starting at the 3 meter line (10 foot line if you prefer) and serve the ball over the net.  Get it over 5 times and then take 1 step back.  Get it over 5 times and keep repeating until you are back at the service line.  Make sure your toss is in front of your serving shoulder.  Make sure your front foot (left foot if you are right handed) is forward and PLANT your back foot.  Many people serve short because they pick up their back foot.  Keep starting your serving practice at the 3 meter line and work your way back.  Part of your problem might be mental.  You do not think you can get the serve over, so you can not get the serve over.  Keep working the drill so that you are successful.

  3. Practice practice practice is the most important thing. when "bumping" (passing) the ball you need to stay calm and just judge where te ball is going to hit and adjust yourself to the movement of the ball! When serving there are typically three steps: toss step and swing. the most important thing to a good serve is the ball toss. TRY THIS: if you are right handed then stand with your weight shifted on your right leg with left foot out and if you are a lefty do the opposite. next hold the ball parallel to the ground and you should be able to see the net, now lower the ball no lower than your belly button. pull your arm back and step with your left foot and drag your right while yoiu swing through the ball! practice these steps over and over and soon you will get the hang of it and be a great server!       Dont give up. volleyball is awesome you just need more pracitce! hope this works for you good luck.

  4. when the balls coming at you fast you can get scared and catch it or move instead get low, or stay on your toes. when your bumoing the ball or passing use the area thats under your wrist.  when your serving your serving do this: put your left foot infront of the right foot and when your throwing the ball up (remember straight up and not too high) take a step with your right foot but dont move the left foot, hit the ball with the palm of your hand, keep both arms straight. Good Luck hope i helped.

  5. Try hitting the ball with the middle of your forearms when you "bump". Just practice by bumping the ball on that part of your arm, over and over again. Just put your arms out in front of you in bump position so that you don't catch it. For serving, try jumping higher, toss the ball higher and hit more up and a little fore ward. It so hard to explain in type. Practice, practice, practice. And try watching some Olympic volleyball videos.

  6. You need to position yourself so that your facing the net and bump the ball. Not go nuts and bang it or just barely tap it. Now when its coming at you very fast, thats when you barely move your arms because the speed will make it bounce and thats why you have teammates ... to help you out...

I cn't help you with underhand because I am a Jump Server.

  7. when you serve the ball make sure that it is not to far in front of you. but make sure it is right in front of your hand.

and when you serve heres what you do.

    1. Toss the ball to where you can get your arm fully extended

    2. step forward like your throwing a baseball

    3. hit the ball.

  8. ~when the ball comes to you, you should go for the ball and get under it and place your arm under the ball so  you think it will probably hit your wrists.

~I have also had the problem getting the ball over the net when serving. What helps me , is when you serve over hand, when your hand is about to hit the ball take all your anger out on the ball, sometimes grunting helps!!!

~On underhand, usualy try to get  power on the ball and height

after that try facing a wall and hitting it downward so it hits the ground once... then hits the wall.... once and comes back to u .... instead of catching it when it gets to u hit it again... and again...

  14. try holding the ball with ur hand that u DONT write with, then use ur most powerful hand to push the ball TOWARDS the net(not just high) well...push the ball towards the net, but still make it high with out going directly towards the sky/ceiling.

  15. practice aiming on your wrists plus a fast ball

  16. well when u bump it try to hit it with ur forearm i no its hard i did that a few times during a hard game

well try not to catch it lol    if its really hard then just try to hit it its better than not trying and u dont no wat u can do until u try

for a while i also had trouble serving. just practice and get in ur ready position, take a step pull ur arm bak and as u are stepping then hit the ball. it takes practice and its hard to tell u how unless i can c u and help u. srry :-(

if u r still having trouble then tlk to ur coach. he/she can really help u

  17. be4 i answer its ok to net one or 2 balls whiles serving. its good u recoginse what the problems r. 1st of all dont wait for a ball u know its gonna pass u or its not going to get to u. always try have one foot forward which ever foot is better for u, that will enable u to move back or forward. dont ever stand straight like u not part of the game or u r a spectator. n about the serving make sure when the ball is up u dont hit it from ur back n throw the ball to a hight where u can reach. always lean into the ball. dont put ur body weight back.
