  1. x^-1 = 1/x

    x^-2 = 1/(x^2)

    x^-3 = 1/(x^3)

  2. 2^2=4

    4^2=16

    2^ -2=1/-4

    4^ -2+ 1/-16

    i guess

  3. The definition of a^(-n), where a,n are any 2 numbers and a<>0

    is 1/a^n. So,

    4^-2*6^-2=

    (1/4^2)(1/6^2)=

    1/(16*36)=

    1/576
