...anyone else that is interesting like this? I'm thinking J. Kellerman. Love Alex Cross type of series books...short, quick chapters, super fun reads. Just looking for some suggestions!

  1. For books similar to the Alex Cross series, you might try:

Patricia Cornwell - Kay Scarpetta series (forensic thriller)

Kathy Reichs - Temperance Brennan (Bones) series (forensic thriller)

Janet Evanovich - Stephanie Plum series (mystery, tons of humor)

James Patterson - Women's Murder Club series (if you haven't already read those) (mystery/thriller)

    Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child - Pendergast series (mystery/thriller)

Dean Koontz - Watchers, Odd Thomas, Life Expectancy, The Husband, The Good Guy and many others (everything from horror to supernatural to sci-fi liberally dosed with humor).

If you like a little more action to your books, then try some of these:

Clive Cussler - Dirk Pitt series, NUMA Files

Matthew Reilly - Ice Station, Seven Deadly Wonders and others

If you just want something a little more fun to read, then try some of these:

Terry Pratchett - Discworld series (fantasy)

Charles Stross - Merchant Princes series (sci-fi/fantasy)

Douglas Adams - Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (sci-fi)

  2. Try any of the Spenser books by Robert B. Parker. Spenser is a lot like Alex Cross, tough and strong , but he is also extremely funny in a sarcastic way. He has a friend named Hawk who is a lot like John Samson. You will love him!

  3. Clive Cussler is great too. They are a little more adventure than thriller, but I think you'd like him if you like good ole reliable James Patterson!
