Ok. I just posted a question about bunny's or guinea pigs. Now my friend and i have decided on a bird (bunny's and guinea pigs seem gross). I have a baby sister at home and need to convince my parents. My friend needs to convince her dad. Which breed would you reccomend? We would like one that can talk. Oh,as you can probably tell, we want to share the bird.

Please help us. We need all the help we can get. And any websites that would be useful could help too! Thanks

  1. Birds can be gross too.  They p**p a lot and sometimes on you if you're handling them a lot.  They also tend to be loud, which might not be very good in an environment with a baby.

And no matter what breed you get, there's no guarantee that the bird will talk, and it's not something you should expect.  A lot of people adopt a bird thinking it will talk and when it doesn't, they just get rid of it.

It would be really stressful for the bird to go back and forth between two houses too, if that's what you're planning.  They like to know their surrounding and having an unstable environment wouldn't be good for them.

I would try thinking of a different kind of pet that's more low-maintenance and can adapt to new places better.

  2. I have 6 different types of bird and if you want a bird that talks plays and is a sweet little clown I would say get a baby Quaker parrot. the one I have has stole the hearts of everyone he meets. But please keep in mind whatever bird you choose it usually is a long commitment it requires a lot of research on your part to make sure all it's needs are met. there are too many people who think birds are just something to leave in a cage and it will be fine. they are like babies that never grow up.

  3. ok well theres lotts of types of birds that can talk brilliant. i hav a baby budgie and he can already say lotts of words just by me talkin to him and they are very clean and cute usally if u guys are female a male budgie will become more close to u. and they r very eay to train mine alredy knows step up, down, no biting, come on and roll over and hes only 4 months old. so i would say a budgie but its up to u.

    good luck :)
