I am 21, married (no children). My mom will be turning 46 on Aug 22.

I asked her what she wants and she said "nothing".

She doesn't have any hobbies.

She doesn't need anything.

She doesn't wear jewelry, except for her wedding rings. She also doesn't have her ears pierced.

She is VERY picky when buying clothes or shoes, etc.

We don't usually spend much money on each other, like $25 dollars tops. We are already going out to eat on her birthday.

I am totally clueless!

  1. visa gift card

  2. How about a treatment at a spa? Maybe get her nails done? Or a facial? Maybe a nice massage? Sort of a pamper me day?

Does she have any favorite movies? Maybe a DVD of a favorite?

Same with music? Any CDs look good? If you're not sure, get a gift card from Barnes and Noble or Borders. She can order on line if she wants.

  3. A massage sometimes you can get a whole hour for 25 it may cost 30 though but who doesn't love a good rub down.

  4. Moms always tell their children not to get them anything for their birthdays, but as a mom and even tho I tell my kids not to, I am always thrilled to get a thoughtful, INEXPENSIVE gift from them....Flowers or a plant (like a pretty African violet or two) are always good; any kind of nice chocolate; a pretty scented candle and holder or those candles in a jar (you can get some great ones for under $10.00 at stores like Walmart or Kmart); a good smelling hand and body lotion with matching body wash and a net scrubby (again, you can pick these up at the larger retail stores) and make sure you give her a nice card....those are the things moms love from their kids....and a big kiss, too.

  5. i think you should get her a vacation sum where that has a beach but you said you don't waste money so i know something that she would like tell her i love you and thanks for being her with me all the times or a birthday card!:]

  6. take her out for dinner and get her a gift certificate to a store she likes

  7. At the arts and craft stores they sell stepping stone kits, you and your hubby could make one for her and put it in the yard. they are $20, we gave them to my mom for her b-day and she loved them!

  8. What about a gift card to get her nails done!!  What woman doesnt like that!!

  9. I'd get her a gift certificate of some kind. Maybe a gift certificate to her favorite store or get her a gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure, facial, waxing, or massage. Good Luck! Take her to a really nice place for dinner too!

  10. Get a mother / daughter massage together.  Some kind of spa treatment. (school of massage places are pretty cheap)

  11. Clean her house for her.  It doesn't cost anything but time and it isn't likely to go unappreciated.

  12. Sometimes the simplest things are the best. I would of preferred some flowers or roses over the last Christmas gift (digital camera) my husband got me. You may want to keep it simple, like her favorite homemade dessert.
