i have a 96 dodge 1500 and something cause by brake caliber to extend and stay extend so it wore my pad off and ruined mt rotor

so i replaced the caliber and the pads and the rotor but for some reason they still wana stay locked up i didnt notice it the first time i drove down the road but when i got out to check them smoke was just rolling out and first thought they were on fire but they were just very hot i think it is just the left side because it like to pull to the left really bad we bled the brake lines right according to my dad he isnt an expert but he knows what hes doing, anyway could this be a problem with the abs we hate taking it to a mechanic sicne we already put 130 bucks in it, but if thats what its gona take let me know

  1. make sure that you use lube on your caliper slides or pins it sounds like there not moving. To check It  grab the caliper an try to slide it from side to side it should move pretty easy if not put lube on the slide pins and where the pads sit on the spindle ,don't get lube on the pads or rotors


  2. Seized caliper or brake hardware.  The square cut seal in a caliper is what makes it return.. When a caliper wears it can shift in the bore and stick.   Its not a ABS problem either.

  3. Replace the brake hose going to the caliper. The hose can rot from the inside and collapse internally allowing fluid to pass into the caliper but not back out. kind of acts like a check valve.

  4. Replace the left brake hose, ( the rubber coated hose going to the caliper)

  5. sounds like your brake fluid isn't returning to the mastercylinder
