Question:

Need breathing tips when doing forward crawl?

i breathe on every third stroke. I can turn my head properly I think but it's just that I don't get enough air. I read on the net that a lot of people breathe out right before they are supposed to breathe in which wastes time causing a more shallow breath in.

I know I'm terrible at explaining, basically I am asking for breathing tips.lol

thanks

  1. get all the air out of your moth under water before you turn your head to the side to breath this will make your breathing faster.

  2. i breathe everyother stoke i think that helps a lot. also we my head is under the water i blow bubbles. i hope this helps

  3. Breath OUT underwater,

Breath IN when you go up.

  4. Lower your heart rate.

Avoid caffiene for a definate starter/

Then focus on your heart.  Slow it down.  Slow your thoughts down.

  5. when u r under water, breathe out ALL your air! then, when u breathe in, u will get more air! ima competitive swimmer so, i should know.

  6. Most people make the mistake of holding their breath. When you are under the water you breath out. It takes practise but when you get used to it you will feel liberated. With the crawl it's usually four strokes under and then alternate sides. Lift your head well towards the back of you as you inhale and then as you exhale under the water you will feel relaxed and in control. Practise makes perfect x*x

  7. HELLO

TRY TO EXHALE ALL AIR WHILST FACE STILL UNDER WATER AS THIS LEAVES ALL TIME FACE OUT OF WATER TO BREATH IN AIR

  8. Breathe through the mouth not nose.  When you turn look to your arm pit, there is a pocket of air there and you don't have to turn your head as much.  Make sure to exhale when your face is in the water

  9. ok...i do it this way...third stroke ure face out u breath in then back in  breath out during first stroke to the the end of third stroke then face out breath in again....for me that works the best or u can just breath in on every second stroke...

  10. It's good that you are doing rhythmic breathing (breathing every third arm).  Blow your air out while your face is in the water and get a good breath before you roll your head back in.  That way when your face is out of the water, you are just inhaling instead of exhaling and theeeeen inhaling.  That's what wastes time.
