So, my room is kind of small , i have room for a bed, a book shelf a dresser, and a bit of extra room. My walls are this deep yellow color, and i don't think painting is an option. And I don't have much more than 20 $ to spend. Does anyone have any good ideas? I appreciate it.

  3. There are going to be TONS of sales on dorm room stuff at Sears, Target and Walmart soon-- keep a little cash to invest in one or two great pieces, like a blanket or wall hanging.  You can buy removable wall decals at any of the above stores in a variety of colors, patterns, and prices.  Find something you LOVE and buy it.  You can spend a buck or two buying some craft paint or spray paint to repaint or stencil a similar color or design on something you have or something you find at a garage sale or thrift store cheap.  For example, if you find an awesome red and orange circle or dot pattern in decals that would look great with the yellow walls, opt for a can of red spray paint and your trash can, some picture frames (you can buy these for $.25 at a thrift shop) and maybe even your dresser handles or the top of the dresser with red to accent.  Then check out stores for a cheap throw blanket on clearance that fits the color scheme.  You could also buy a couple yards of thin discount fleece at the fabric store and make a blanket and a throw pillow.  Look for someone throwing out old furniture in the trash-- you could spray paint an old metal or wooden chair that is in decent condition for little money and have a great accent piece.  Another thing-- you can create your own art on the computer and print it off.  Buy some cheap clear contact paper and laminate anything you like and hang by strings and white tacks form the ceiling or use gummy tack and put it on the wall.  This is especially  easy for geometric patterns.

Think clearance and refab.  If you like the color or the pattern and it is cloth, you can always cut it up for curtains or pillow shams or a dresser top runner.

    Good luck!
