  1. tell Dad if he don't get you a bike you will turn into a bum, using drugs, robbing old ladies for $5 for money for ur drug fix and stealing a motorcycle, and you will end up in a prison and dad will be ashamed of his son

  2. So you already have a bike, but you want something faster? Try breaking the ice with a 250 Ninja. It is a great bike that handles really well and gets something like 60MPG. They look really cool too. Once you have gotten a little experience, you can jump up to the 600 class.

I personally ride a Buell, and even though they can't keep up with the CBRs and GSXRs in a straight line, they are a great bike and very cheap to buy used and insurance is way lower too. Maybe the made in America factor might help with the parents too.

  3. Dad may have a valid reason for feeling that way. How much time do you have on a bike? If NONE then may i suggest looking into an Aprilia RS50 or a Derby 50.. both will do bout 60mph stock pending on your size, I weigh 155lbs and it did right around 60 with me .. bout 65 with wife at 102lbs. they have 6 speed trannys, 50 cc 2-stroke, basically a euro race bike (50cc Class). In america its classes as a scooter not a motorcycle so no motorcycle endorsment is needed to ride it. It looks nothing like a scooter though, its about the same size as a 600 class sportbike. only thinner and lighter (approx 300 lbs) (R6 weighs 396lbs dry). hope that helps.

    also check the 500 cc sports..ninja 500 or Gsx500.

  4. Make and save money to buy your own bike.

  5. I had the same problem when i got my first bike.  My dads answer was "there is no way your getting a bike", but guess what, i have a bike now :)

I talked to a friend of mine whos been riding for awhile.  He explained to me how to ride safely.  Like the proper gear to wear, how to be extra cautious, what to do in certain dangerous situations...stuff like that.  Then he said i can take the riders safety course.  After that i had a serious conversation with my dad explaining that i have the money, i know how to be safe (gave specific examples) and i will take a safety class.  He hesitantly told me it was okay.

So you just have to let him know that you can be responsible and that you know how.  He needs to know that you understand the risks and can be safe.  You already have a bike, but maybe this will still work.

    Good luck!

  6. Maybe dad knows that if you have the means you'll use them. Are you a safe rider? Parents only are protecting (or at least in THEIR minds) their kids. I was the same way with mine. Amazing how much they've learned over the last 5-10 years!
