You could immortalize other parts of the body - it does not have to be baby feet. I would also use tile and colorful objects to make it more visual

Go to the beach, and have the baby stand in the sand. Use the footprints and pour in plaster of paris. Let it dry, and then you scoop it up carefully. My aunt did this onceat the beach, and i thought it was a really cute idea. Plus, you get a fun day at the beach! a win, win situation!
