Need design/idea help?

Here's the thing: I have a paper (height: 12 cm, width: 5 cm) that I'm going to fill with a couple of images of different sizes. I've been thinking about doing a kind of collage thing (I have Photoshop Elements) but I'm not really sure how to do it. I wanted the images to sort of blend with each other, so you get seamless edges, but I find this difficult to accomplish. I have basic knowledge in Photoshop Elements. I find that everytime I try something it ends up looking amateurish. Do you have any ideas how I can do this in a nice way?

  1. its all to do with layers.

Stick all you photos where you want them, then use the eraser.

Select a large fuzzy brush to delete the edges. There is also a transparency setting for the eraser (not the layer) which you can turn up and down wich can help a bit. The best thing to do is to try it out. But thats how I'd do it.

  2. start by creating new doc in photoshop with the dimensions required.  Then minimize each images so that they can be equally represented on the page.  Make each one on its own layer and then mask each layer allowing for you to then use a brush to conceal what parts of each image you dislike, essentially making this into a sort of puzzle.  It will look far better if you learn how to mask layer.
