I try to play City of Heroes and I get this. The game was working fine a few months ago.

Your card or driver doesn't support GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array

Your card or drive doesn't support GL_ARB_multitexture

Your card or drive doesn't support GL_ARB_texture_compression

Detected video card or driver is currently unsupported Intel(R)

82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller. The game may run poorly or not

at all with your current configuration. Current system requirements are

NVidia GeForce 2 or better, ATI Radeon 8500 or better, or an Intel GMA

900 or better. (If your card does not meet the minimum requirements,

you might not have the latest drivers. Go to www.nvidia.com, www.ati.com, or www.intel.com to update your driver. In some cases, such as laptops, you may need to get the latest drivers from your computer manufacturer.)

Do you want to continue?

(Clicked Yes)

City of Heroes has crashed and cannot continue. You may need to upgrade to a supported video card or driver.

(Click Ok and it closes)

Also, I did a scan at system requirements lab and this is what I got:

I sent an email to them, but they havn't responded in 3 days (Forwading me to Senior Technial Suppot Represenitive.) And something tells me he may not be able to help.

So, anyone know how to fix this?

  1. First of all, I'm no tech. I can only tell you what has worked for me and other players I know as problems have arisen over the years.

Be sure that you have the most recent updates for your video card. Sometimes this takes a little bit of research.

Next, go MANUALLY to Windows Update and make sure you have all current updates.

I know this is a pain, but I have known players to re-install Windows AND all their drivers....and solve the problem that way.

I think you're on the right track with contacting PlayNC. I know 3 days seems like a long time, but if they can help you get it fixed, it'll be worth it.

    Good Luck!
