I was supposed to have a friend over today in 2 hours, but my other friend, a dental hygienist in training just called and she asked if I can come today ( i was supposed to come on monday but i had to cancel)... it's her last day before vacation.

It would be really good for me to go in today because my dental insurance expires at the end of august, and if i wait till her vacation is over my dental insuracne will be close to expiring... and i have to go to the dentist when she is done with me.

I called the friend that was supposed to come over but she's sleeping adn i left a message to call me back.

The hygienist is calling me back in 10 min.

Is it rude to cancel on the friend supposed to be coming over? How should i handle this?

Need answers fast plz!!!!

  1. go to the dentist. your friend should understand, can you guys do things after the appointment? Especially with your insurance expiring you need to go

  2. Take care of youself, you friend should be able to understand. If you already left her a message then go.

  3. your friend should understand. reschedule and tell her you will make it up to her.

  4. Take care of your health first.

If it is an actual FRIEND, they would be upset if you put off a health-related appointment just because you were afraid of being rude and cancelling.

  5. No - your health is most important!

  6. Definitely take care of your health first. If you are polite about canceling with your friend, she should understand. If you cannot contact your friend before you have to leave, make sure to leave her a note on your door in case she didn't get your voice mail. Hope it works out!

  7. heck no!!!  not canceling will cost you big at the dentist if your insurance expires.

call her back and explain why you're canceling, even if just on the answering machine.

    gotta do whatya gotta do!

  8. i think the friend will understand. plus you could just hang out with her later on in the day. its not like a dentist appointment takes all day (and shes sleeping anyways) say it was the only way the could squeeze you in. (even though that is semi-true. i think the friend will understand.

  9. She should understand if you level with her jest make it up with a new invite and fix her lunch or something like that to let her know that you value her as a friend.

  10. No. Your health comes first. It's not like you just disappeared!! Just try calling her every so often until you get to talk to her in person, then explain again.

  11. Its rude but maybe just ask the friend to come over in 4 hours not 2...that way you can keep both appointments.

  12. -too cancel or not to cancel,.set your priorities first and explain this to him/her,.if they are a true friend he/she will understand and wont be offended,.

  13. It is not like you are dumping your friend for another friend.  If you need the dental care,  get the dental care.   Just be truthful with your friend and there should be no problems.

  14. you can do both, teeth cleaning isn't an all day thing. Maybe she can go window shopping while your at the dentist? Take her with you.

  15. I would try to call your friend again, and if you don't get her--leave another message explaining your situation. Make sure to apologize and I'm sure she will understand. Maybe you can meet up after?

  16. Your friend will understand.

Take care of your dental situation.  Maybe your friend can go with you and you can do something after your appointment. Unless it's a huge procedure and you need to postpone to a different day, which would be understandable.

  17. friends are forever,it would be kinda rude to cancel, but if she has been a friend for awhile im sure she would understand you rescedueling with her.
