  1. Are you kidding? And when does the kid get to... o i don't know, play?! I AM the kid who skipped 8th grade, and 11th-12th and did Running start. I am in the program right now, I'm a senior but I don't go to high school. I don't know what prom is, a boyfriend is but I know 3 languages, Karate, dance, computers to the core, psychology, and I work like 7 days a week. Go ahead, do that. The kid will grow up and be successful is what you're thinking but in reality they get up one morning, look around, and shoot themselves because they've never gone out to the movies, kissed a close one in a relationship, or have done something stupid. And yes, my parents pushed  me into having 2 jobs (count them, i'm 17!!!) and to start driving 3 years ago because it took them too long to get me everywhere. I also spend about 10 hours a day at home, most of the time less as i eat and bathe and sleep for 5/7 hours weekly, while the rest is school and work.

So you tell me what ENRICHMENT PROGRAM IS APPROPRIATE FOR A KINDERGARDEN TODDLER!!

  2. i would say Kumon, u can view this site for list of enrichment classes u can send ur child.........

  3. They will "thumbs" down my response...but I will share with you my opinion anyway as a Kumon grader/trainer I would say both! They will not counteract each other. If anything it develops different approaches to the same skills- builds more dendrites in the brain!!

I have seen too many kids in Jr High still counting on their fingers or using "touch math" little dots to perform calculations! Teachers do not have the time to drill kids on basic addition and subtraction as most of the state standards are application problems in the upper grades. It is assumed that by 2nd grade addition and sub. facts are learned- but they aren't in the majority of students. Why wait?

I started my older on in Kumon at 9 and it was sort of late, although it did help. My youngest two at 2 and 1/2 with Kumon math and they have always excelled in math AND they were normal kids running and playing and having a social life too. (this idea that early learning somehow ruins kids is for the birds! These are the same people who let their kids watch 6 hours of t.v. a day..somehow they think that's ok!)

The Japanese philosophy is to learn the skill before applying it and to develop mental math. If you plan on advancing your kids at young age you will always hear criticism from those who do not have the same goals as you. Yet there are many of us out there who do believe in early education, so I say try it all.

  4. PLZ PLZ PLZ chill out its a kid they need a hug a blow on the belly, a hug a kiss. Dont do the school till its there age to go let them grow up dont try grow them. Be loving and supportive about everything, help with homework teach em maths, spelling etc etc...  Dont be crazy just be there mum/dad

Good luck  i think ull be fine

  5. They are still a baby and should be counting cheerios not taking classes. Teach through play, spend time reading to them and playing board games. Not training them up. You will do more harm than good.
