  1. .9 = 9/10

    9/10 = x/60

    so, minutes = (9*60)/10

  2. 5 hours and 54 minutes

  3. I think it's 54 minutes.

    The decimal of .9 is 9/10s of an hour. By multiplying 60 by .9 gives you 9/10s of an hour.

    54 minutes.

    You can think about it that 60 minutes divided by 10 (10 parts) is 6 minutes, so you subtract one 6 minute part.

    Hope this helped! Good luck!

  4. .9 * 60 = 54 minutes

    5 hours 54 minutes.

  5. use the cross multiply method:

    1/60 = .9/x

    => 1 * x = .9 * 60

    => x = .9 * 60

    => 54 mins.

    there you go.

  6. Let  t = mins in the hour.

    so think:"How many mins are in this hour.?"

    equation form:    ?t=.9 hour

    you know there's 60 mins per hour.....   so it's   60min/1hour

    so  0.9hour (60min/hour) = 54 min.

    and your answer for the 0.9 hour is 54 min...

    add that to the 5 hours, and you'll get

    5.9 hours = 5 hours and 54 min.
