My 9 month old is formula fed and has always hated the bottle but I have managed to get her to eat. Lately she is refusing it all together and just letting it run out of her mouth and not swallow or suck or anything. She will drink water only from a sippy. I have tried formula in it and no way will she drink it then. She eats regular food great and I am not worried about her nutrition wise but do you think if I just mix the formula into her cereal and foods and stuff and just let her drink water from the sippy that's OK. I know they should be getting between 16-25 oz a day but is some in her cereal better than nothing at all. I am fed up with bottles and my doctor said I should start weaning her off bottles anyway at his age. What is your opinion? What would you do?

  1. follow the doctor's advice.

  2. GO with your doctor's advice. Mix the formula into the cereal if they feel they need the calories/nutrition. I wouldn't worry about the bottle as long as they keep gaining weight and growing the same.  Who cares how they get the nutrition - as long as they get it.

  3. Mix the formula in with her cereal. She may not be a milk drinker. My mother told me I stopped drinking milk at 9mos and I haven't drank it since. Try organic whole milk with her and see if she will drink that out of a sippy cup.
