Need for Speed: The Run gets a demo, Resident Evil Revelations get a release date
A bit of news on the latest instalments of two of the longest running franchises in gaming history as both a demo for Need for Speed: The Run and a release date for Resident Evil Revelations have been confirmed.
Starting things off in the world of the living and, of course, really fast cars, as Electronic Arts have given Need for Speed fans a date to mark down on their calendar and day dream about as the publisher has announced that the demo for Need for Speed:
The Run is set to hit consoles on the October 18.
The demo will be available for download from both, PlayStation Network as well as it fierce rival, the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, with the latter getting access to the demo one day earlier. The PlayStation Network will be available one day later.
Gamers should have plenty of time to get a feel of the game and decide whether or not it is for them as the demo will stay available until the first day of the next month, i.e. the November 1, for both consoles. Two locations will be made available for racers
as both the Independence Pass of Colorado and the Desert Hill of California will feature in it.
Yet, what is a demo about racing at break neck speed without some super s**y cars to do it in? It seems EA has gamers covered on that front too as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni will be available from the get go. However, the 2012 Porsche
911 Carrera S, will be given to gamers who refer the demo to their friends, kind of like an application on Facebook, but with rewards much better than a sheep.
Moving on now to the world of zombies as Resident Evil fans have something to get excited about as well, with the announcement of a release date for the Resident Evil Revelations on the portable Nintendo 3DS.
Releasing on January 27 in Europe and just over a week later on February 7 in United States of America, the game will look to take advantage of the second analogue stick of 3DS. The game will see players thrown back into the eerie world of Resident Evil
with the action taking place on a ship. Gamers can expect plenty of claustrophobia inducing tight corridor and dimly light hallways, as well as the usual hordes of the undead, which the game is known for.
